Meet Victoria!

Hello everyone! My name is Victoria, and I am a college freshman! I decided to make a blog all about college, adulating and professionalism, because I realized I have no idea how to do any of those three things. While I definitely don't know enough about either three either, I feel like it would be helpful to prospective college students and even current college students. Here's a little about me: I am a freshman at Franklin College of Indiana. I am a journalism major, and a Spanish and theatre minor. My heart secretly belongs to New York City (don't tell Indiana) I love a good deal, and saving money any way I can. I love the feeling of mentoring- whether its leading a study group or simply helping other out. I relate to small town culture, even though I am from Noblesville, Indiana, a city of about 60,000 people. I hope you all enjoy my blog! I plan on experimenting with the type of content I produce until I find my niche, so bear with me!

Are you ready for a professional career?

I ask myself this quite often. Especially when I'm walking down the halls of the Indiana Statehouse in a full-blown power suit and heels outfit. Even though I entered college as a technical adult, I sure didn't feel like one. I had to figure out how to do laundry my first week on campus and even had to force myself to make my bed everyday. I walked into college with a fresh start. All of my professors had much more faith in me than I ever did, and maybe ever will. So when I was approached by one of my professors to do an internship at the Indiana Statehouse as a reporter during my freshman J-term, of course I said yes. I wanted him to continue to believe in the facade of me. He thought I was a hard-working, no bullshit kind of person. While the ladder is true, the former is questionable. 6 Tips on how to become an RA in college

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to be offered an RA (Resident's Assistant) position at my school. I was shocked that I had been given this opportunity. About halfway through the process the self-doubt really began to set in. I assumed I wouldn't get a position because I realized there were so many talented people around me. I still can't believe I get to call myself an RA. This opportunity is something that will immensely help me get through school (money wise). Free room and bard is not something you stumble upon everyday. I was lucky enough that I had an RA that was very open about the process, and answered all of my questions that I had.
